Sara Gran is the author of The Book of The Most Precious Substance. Previous work includes Saturn's Return to New York, Come Closer, Dope, Marigold, and the Claire DeWitt series. She is the founder of small press Dreamland Books and writes for television and film. Before making a living as a writer, Ms. Gran had endless jobs, primarily with books, working at Manhattan bookstores like Shakespeare & Co, The Strand, and Housing Works, and selling used & rare books on her own. Born in Brooklyn in 1971, Ms. Gran has lived in many interesting and crime-ridden places. She now resides in the state of California.
